The whole world has been turned upside down, shaken about, spun around and told to pin the tail on the donkey. And just like a disorientated child at a birthday party, we are all a bit wobbly right now!
The idea of "getting back to normal" seems pretty far off, will it even be possible to go back to the way it was, is that even desirable?? All big questions that I for one don't have any answers to. Neither do most people I suspect. All we can do for now is look after our selves, our families, our neighbours and hope that we all make it through the pandemic.
Just like almost everything else, our business has been drastically affected. We closed our doors on Monday 16th of March 2020 and haven't been open to the public since. This has broken a continuous run of approximately 2106 weeks (40.5 years) of trading in Longford Town. It feels very strange not to be open, serving customers and looking after our staff and our stock. Of course, it is a small price to pay to help ensure the virus doesn't spread any more than it already has thus helping to keep the community safe. But that being said, it is all very difficult to comprehend.
The silver lining for us in the crisis is that it has given us the chance to set up a new eCommerce website. While it was always planned to start selling online, C19 has brought forward the necessity to get it up and running. We are fulfilling online orders in line with health and safety recommendations and all orders will be delivered through An Post, Fastway or DPD.
We are still offering a suit hire service for those who need it but this will be on an appointment basis with limited access to our shop. If you need to hire a suit for any reason, please get in touch and we will be glad to help out.
For those who had wedding suits booked, rest assured that we will honour our commitments to you and will be ready to have you and your groomsmen looking dapper for your wedding day, whenever that may be. If you have any questions, please get in touch through any of our contact channels.
The world has changed, but we will adapt and change with it. Stay strong, stay healthy and look after each other. We will be back.
